Demand Corporations stand with us & stand up to ICE
Join organizers in Minnesota and national partners to pressure corporations including Target, Hilton, Enterprise, Home Depot, and Delta to show up for our communities and stand up to ICE. Call or email each corporation to demand they take action to rein ICE out of our communities NOW.
Our demands include:
Publicly call for an immediate end to the ICE “surge” into MN and for ICE to leave the state;
The officer who killed Renee Good must be held legally accountable. Demand a legitimate investigation with state involvement.
Exercise their 4th Amendment rights and publicly post signage denying entrance to on-duty immigration agents who do not have signed judicial warrants as required by law, as well train staff on how to respond when immigration agents arrive at stores and worksites.
Publicly call for Congress to freeze funding for ICE.
Focus #1: Target
On January 8th, Customs and Border Protection agents attacked and detained two US citizens who were employees at the Richfield, MN Target. Minnesota sports teams play in stadiums and jerseys with Target’s logo on them. Target is headquartered in Minneapolis and is Minnesota’s fourth largest employer. They should be standing with the people of Minnesota and speaking out against ICE’s invasion of the state. Click here to write to Target!
Focus #2: Delta
Delta is one of Minnesota’s leading corporate citizens, a significant employer in the state and uses the airport as one of its main US hubs. Where Delta leads, others follow. Focus #3: Enterprise
Enterprise has reportedly rented more than a thousand vehicles to ICE agents in Minnesota according to social media. Demand Enterprise immediately cease renting to ICE and demand the immediate return of all rental vehicles from the agency & more. Click here to write to Enterprise now!
Focus #4: Home Depot
Home Depot has remained silent regarding the ICE raids they allow in their parking lot and store. Click here to tell Home Depot to demand they condemn ICE now!
Focus #5: Hilton
Hilton has housed ICE agents in Minnesota who are abducting our friends and neighbors and terrorizing our community. Click here to demand Hilton refuse to allow ICE agents to use their hotels!
Demand Congress act now to rein in ICE
Demand Congress refuse to fund ICE and Border Patrol without serious reforms. Every Member of Congress should publicly oppose the DHS appropriations bill unless it:
Strengthens restrictions on ICE and Border Patrol’s ability to conduct dragnet arrest operations and target people based on their race, language or accent, place of employment, or location at the time of the apprehension;
Ends Border Patrol deployment to our cities and rejects its ever-expanding mandate in immigration enforcement; and
Limits DHS's reprogramming and transfer authority, including specifically preventing reprogramming and transferring funds for detention.
The current DHS funding bill does not meet these demands, and all Members of Congress should oppose it.
