Our Values
Abolitionist Framework: We recognize that prisons are for-profit enterprises and that modern incarceration is a continuation of slavery. We do not default to trusting the police; instead, we invest in community-led safety and the total dismantling of the carceral state.
Stolen Land & Open Borders: We operate with the daily realization that we are on stolen Indigenous land. We believe that no human being is illegal and we stand in fierce solidarity with immigrants and the global struggle for Palestinian liberation.
Dismantling White Supremacy: We are committed to the lifelong work of breaking down white supremacy in our communities and ourselves. We use our collective privilege as a weapon to fight for those who have been systematically denied it.
Gender & Bodily Autonomy: We are unapologetic feminists who believe women and fight for LGBTQ+ rights, including universal access to gender-affirming care. We believe healthcare—including mental, reproductive, and transition-related care—is a fundamental human right that must be provided through a universal healthcare system.
Champion New Leadership: The era of the "old white man" in positions of power must come to an end. We are actively working to remove the gatekeepers of the status quo and replace them with people of color who reflect the lived experiences of our communities.
Anti-Capitalism: We are anti-capitalist and believe in redistributing the hoarded wealth of the few to meet the survival needs of the many.
Intersectional Equity & Justice: We advocate for the pursuit of intersectional equity in all public institutions. We recognize that our struggles are interconnected and we center the experiences of those at the intersection of multiple forms of oppression to ensure no one is left behind.
